Les Gordon is an experienced anaesthetist whose special interest is in difficult airway management. He started in mountain rescue in 2009 in the Lake District and has attended 630 rescues. His special interest is accidental hypothermia, which started after the wife of a rescue team colleague died of hypothermia. He has published several papers, written chapters in two books, given many presentations at national and international conferences and has drawn up and regularly updates the Mountain Rescue England & Wales Hypothermia protocols.
