I am a medical doctor and hold the Diploma in Mountain Medicine. I've been the Team Doctor and a member of Mountain Rescue teams in the Brecon Beacons and Peak District, and I’m currently a member of the medical faculty for my local Mountain Rescue teams in Avon & Somerset and the Severn area. I also deliver mountaineering skills training for Scout Adventures.
I provide medical support for expeditions. My personal adventures include mountaineering in the UK and at high altitude in the Himalayas and Alps, canoe-camping journeys in Scotland and Scandinavia, and Arctic show-shoeing.
I've been a hospital Consultant in Kidney Medicine since 2016, specialising in Home Dialysis. I was awarded a PhD for dialysis research. I've fulfilled clinical leadership roles for my hospital department and for Wales. I teach Advanced Life Support and run multi-disciplinary team emergencies simulations. I’m currently on a career break from my hospital job and enjoying being out in the mountains, alongside part-time work as a researcher and volunteer for women’s charities.
