2026 BMC Weekend
Bringing best practice to all mountain users. This event provides mountain first aid teaching from the British Mountain Medicine Society to those who love the outdoors. It is open to novices and anyone who wishes to refresh their knowledge. You might be a volunteer walk leader, a mountain/climbing instructor, a guide requiring CPD (Continuing Professional Development) or a lover of the outdoors keen to up their skills. All are welcome.

An audience with...
MICK FOWLER
For half a century, Mick Fowler has juggled pioneering first ascents and remote mountaineering expeditions with family life, a demanding office job – and even a life-changing cancer diagnosis. ​
​
Join us to hear his inspiring story.
​
Mick will be talking at Outside Cafe on Wednesday 20th May in the evening, and will be a fundraiser for local hospital charity Weston Park, who treated Mick during his illness.
Tickets available through the main Congress registration.


Outdoor Activities
We'll be offering a selection of guided group outdoor activities throughout the week.​

These paid activities can be booked during registration and are open to delegates and any accompanying guests you may be travelling with.

Hathersage and the wider Peak District offer outstanding opportunities for outdoor adventure and is a true haven for outdoor enthusiasts. If you are visiting from outside the area, we encourage you to allow yourself some time to explore and enjoy the landscape during your stay.
