Jamie Pattison
Jamie is a Paramedic and adventure athlete with a passion for providing pre-hospital care in challenging environments. With a diverse range of skills and experiences, Jamie has made a significant impact in the field of Mountain Rescue Medical care.
Starting his journey with Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team as Medical Officer at age 23, Jamie has since progressed to become Team Leader, where the team delivers crucial pre-hospital care in some of the most demanding environments in the U.K. His dedication and leadership were recognised when he received an award for their exceptional response to the COVID-19 pandemic, helping to transform Mountain Rescue Medical care during unprecedented challenges.
As a true Chionophile and a proud Geordie, Jamie’s natural affinity lies in cold and mountainous terrains. He has embraced his love for adventure and the cold through various expeditions, including being part of the winning team in the gruelling Iceman Polar race in 2016.
Jamie’s passion for exploration has taken him across the globe, from Greenland to Australia. His extensive expedition experience has further honed his skills in providing medical support in diverse and remote locations, from film sets to scientific teams.
With a background in paramedicine, Jamie trained with the North East Ambulance Service and subsequently joined the Scottish Ambulance Service as a member of the Special Operations Response Team, North. This saw Jamie’s expertise and commitment providing vital coverage to the north of Scotland. Jamie was selected to join the UK's International Search and Rescue (UKISAR) Team in 2022 and has been deployed to the Morocco Earthquake (2023) and Mozambique flooding (2026).
Currently, Jamie serves as a Winch Paramedic with Bristow Helicopters / HMCG, providing critical Search and Rescue (SAR) helicopter services as part of UKSAR. Jamie’s remarkable journey as a Paramedic, coupled with his passion for adventure and commitment to providing exceptional care, exemplifies his drive to push boundaries and deliver life-saving interventions in the most challenging situations.
