Prof. Hilty is a Senior Intensivist at University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine, and is since 2022 serving as Head of the Organ Donation Program at the Center for Transplantation Medicine in Zurich. His research pertains to tissue oxygenation and perfusion in critical illness, and his research group frequently performs high-altitude field research in ths context. He is the principal investigator of several clinical studies at University Hospital Zurich.
